Our story

The foundations of this company were laid long before it had a name — when Thomas was a boy on construction sites, working under the watchful eye of a perfectionist father. That is where the standard came from, and it is still the one we measure against.

Years of working sites here and abroad taught him the other half of the business too: how hard it is to find people who actually care about the work, and how much a good hand is worth to a project. Bang On exists to solve both problems — the carpentry, and the people who do it.

What makes us different

Quality over quantity. We would rather do fewer jobs properly than spread a crew so thin that everything slips. That applies to the carpentry and to the people we place — we take the time to understand how a company actually works before we put someone into it.

We started as tradespeople and we still are. Everyone who quotes your job has built one, which is why our quotes tend to survive contact with the site.

Our mission is simple enough to say in a sentence: finish every carpentry job and every labour-hire match with all parties smiling. In a trade where the normal experience is chasing someone for a callback, that turns out to be a real differentiator.

Who we work for

We are a trade partner to some of British Columbia's largest builders — Ledcor, EllisDon, PCL, ITC Construction, Bosa, Axiom, Arpeg and others — installing finish packages on commercial projects. We also work directly for homeowners on staircases, joinery and timber detail. The standard is the same either way.

Our people

Thomas brings a wealth of industry experience from sites across the globe and pulls no punches when it comes to delivering results. He is also pushing for something less common in this trade: a genuinely liveable hourly rate for labourers in a city this expensive.

Big enough, small enough

We are large enough to take on an entire finish package and small enough that the person you speak to is the person accountable for the work. When we need to scale, we staff from our own labour-hire network rather than from strangers.
